21371. Indian teen develops "Dodo Drop" app as an alternative to Chinese file-sharing apps

- Ashfaq Mehmood Choudhary, a 17-year-old boy from Chattyear of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, has developed a file-sharing app 'Dodo Drop' which would enable users to share audios, videos, images, and texts between two devices without Internet access.
- While speaking to ANI, Ashfaq Mehmood said that the 'Dodo Drop' application is an alternative to the Chinese 'SHAREit' app.
- Ashfaq said that it took him four weeks to develop the application, and it was launched on August 1 this year. The 'Dodo Drop' application has a transfer rate of up to 480 Mbps, which is faster than the SHAREit app and is "quite easy" to use.

- Founded in 2018 by Suket Amin and his father, Dipak Amin, Ahmedabad-based Sunbots Innovations LLP is an iCreate-backed startup that uses automation, mobility, sensor technology, and artificial intelligence to develop outdoor security and surveillance robotic systems.
- Ahmedabad-based security startup Sunbots Innovations has developed Sterilite, a UV-C tower device with a foldable arm, which can be used to disinfect hospitals, dental clinics, offices, hotels, and homes.
- According to the co-founder, the device - with its arm at 0 or 180 degrees - can be used to disinfect specific and focused surfaces such as a table or chair in 10 minutes. Sterilite is priced at Rs 15,000, inclusive of GST and shipping charges. Till date, the company has sold 10 units to clinics and homes.

- In 1968, Lijjat established its first branch outside Maharashtra, in Valod, Gujarat. As per the website, the pan-India venture presently has 82 branches, and exports to 15 countries. This papad venture became well known for its consistency in taste and quality.

- “We put them in touch with government and private schools with better salaries. Basic salary may start as low as Rs 80,000 up to Rs 4 lakh per month," says the founder.

- साल 1920 में जन्मी पद्मावती आज भी रोज़ाना तीन घंटे काम करती हैं। वह साड़ियाँ पर हाथ से पेंटिंग करतीं हैं और उन्हें अपने काम से बहुत प्यार है।
- वह शायद 60 की उम्र से ऊपर थी, जब उन्हें पहली कमाई मिली थी। वह एक साड़ी तैयार करने के लिए 11 हजार रुपये लेती हैं, जिसमें साड़ी की कीमत भी शामिल है और दुपट्टे के लिए 3,000 रुपये।
- सुबह साढ़े पांच से साढ़े छह के बीच उठने वाली पद्मावती सुबह चाय और ब्रेकफ़ास्ट के साथ अख़बार पढ़ती हैं। उनकी बेटी, लता बताती हैं, “इसके बाद, वह लगभग 10:30 बजे तक अपनी डेस्क पर काम के लिए बैठ जाती हैं और दोपहर 1 बजे के बाद ही उठती हैं।” साड़ी डिज़ाइन करना बहुत मेहनत का काम है और इसमें काफी वक़्त भी लगता है। लेकिन दादी अपने काम को बहुत बारीकी से करती हैं। आज भी वह साड़ी के लिए लेआउट बनाती हैं और फिर उसमें रंग भरती हैं। उनकी बेटी और बहुएं उनके लिए साड़ी लाती हैं, जिस पर वह काम करती हैं।
